7th grade science focuses on systems and cycles, putting heavy emphasis on how understanding past events can help us plan for a better future. Students will study eight major topics: the earth’s changing surface, how organisms interact with each other, how the environment affects humans, communication systems, how humans affect the environment, transportation systems, changes in energy, and experimental design. Each topic will provide students the opportunity to explore how the earth changes around them, and how small actions can have large effects. Students will use their knowledge to propose, design, and engineer solutions to real-world problems and develop scientific literacy.
